         Here are some commonly used Hindi  verbs explained with examples to make your learning          easy  and interesting. 

         खाना (Khaana) – To eat

        मैं खाना खा रहा हूँ। (I am eating food.)

        पीना (Peena) – To drink

        वह पानी पी रहा है। (He is drinking water.)

        सोना (Sona) – To sleep

        बच्चा गहरी नींद सो रहा है। (The baby is sleeping deeply.)

        चलना (Chalna) – To walk

        हम रोज़ सुबह पार्क में चलते हैं। (We walk in the park every morning.)

        दौड़ना (Daudna) – To run

        वह बहुत तेज़ दौड़ सकता है। (He can run very fast.)

        बैठना (Baithna) – To sit

        कृपया यहाँ बैठ जाइए। (Please sit here.)

        उठना (Uthna) – To get up

        मैं सुबह जल्दी उठता हूँ। (I wake up early in the morning.)

        देखना (Dekhna) – To see/watch

        मैं टीवी देख रहा हूँ। (I am watching TV.)

        सुनना (Sunna) – To listen

        मैं संगीत सुन रहा हूँ। (I am listening to music.)

        बोलना (Bolna) – To speak

        वह हिंदी बहुत अच्छी बोलती है। (She speaks Hindi very well.)

         लिखना (Likhna) – To write

        मैं एक पत्र लिख रहा हूँ। (I am writing a letter.)

        पढ़ना (Padhna) – To read

        वह किताब पढ़ रहा है। (He is reading a book.)

        सीखना (Seekhna) – To learn

        मैं नई भाषा सीख रहा हूँ। (I am learning a new language.)

        सिखाना (Sikhana) – To teach

        गुरु हमें गणित सिखा रहे हैं। (The teacher is teaching us math.)

        खेलना (Khelna) – To play

        बच्चे मैदान में खेल रहे हैं। (Children are playing in the field.)

        रहना (Rehna) – To live

        मैं दिल्ली में रहता हूँ। (I live in Delhi.)

        आना (Aana) – To come

        वह स्कूल आ रहा है। (He is coming to school.)

        जाना (Jaana) – To go

        मैं बाजार जा रहा हूँ। (I am going to the market.)

        सोचना (Sochna) – To think

        मैं इस विषय पर सोच रहा हूँ। (I am thinking about this topic.)

        करना (Karna) – To do

        मैं अपना काम कर रहा हूँ। (I am doing my work.)

         बनाना (Banana) – To make

        माँ स्वादिष्ट खाना बना रही हैं। (Mother is making delicious food.)

        समझना (Samajhna) – To understand

        क्या तुम मेरी बात समझ रहे हो? (Do you understand what I am saying?)

        पकड़ना (Pakadna) – To catch/hold

        उसने गेंद पकड़ी। (He caught the ball.)

        छोड़ना (Chhodna) – To leave

        उसने नौकरी छोड़ दी। (He left the job.)

        मिलना (Milna) – To meet

        हम कल मिले थे। (We met yesterday.)

        देना (Dena) – To give

        कृपया मुझे पानी दो। (Please give me water.)

        लेना (Lena) – To take

        उसने मेरी किताब ली। (He took my book.)

        ढूंढना (Dhoondhna) – To search

        मैं अपनी चाबियाँ ढूंढ रहा हूँ। (I am searching for my keys.)

        गाना (Gaana) – To sing

        वह बहुत अच्छा गाती है। (She sings very well.)

        हंसना (Hansna) – To laugh

        वे मज़ाक पर हंस रहे हैं। (They are laughing at the joke.)

         रोना (Rona) – To cry

        बच्चा जोर-जोर से रो रहा है। (The baby is crying loudly.)

        खोलना (Kholna) – To open

        दरवाजा खोल दो। (Open the door.)

        बंद करना (Band Karna) – To close

        कृपया खिड़की बंद कर दो। (Please close the window.)

        लाना (Lana) – To bring

        पापा मेरे लिए चॉकलेट लाए। (Father brought chocolates for me.)

        भेजना (Bhejna) – To send

        मैंने तुम्हें एक पत्र भेजा। (I sent you a letter.)

        तोड़ना (Todna) – To break

        बच्चे ने खिलौना तोड़ दिया। (The child broke the toy.)

        जोड़ना (Jodna) – To join

        उसने दो लकड़ियों को जोड़ा। (He joined two pieces of wood.)

        समाप्त करना (Samaapt Karna) – To finish

        मैंने अपना काम समाप्त कर लिया। (I have finished my work.)

        याद करना (Yaad Karna) – To remember

        क्या तुमने अपना पाठ याद किया? (Did you remember your lesson?)

        भूलना (Bhoolna) – To forget

        मैं अपना पासवर्ड भूल गया। (I forgot my password.)

         कहना (Kehna) – To say

        उसने सच कहा। (He told the truth.)

        बचाना (Bachana) – To save

        हमें पानी बचाना चाहिए। (We should save water.)

        चुनना (Chunna) – To choose

        उसने लाल रंग चुना। (He chose the red color.)

        मांगना (Maangna) – To ask (for something)

        उसने मुझसे मदद मांगी। (He asked me for help.)

        छूना (Chhoona) – To touch

        कृपया यह मशीन मत छुओ। (Please don’t touch this machine.)

        साफ करना (Saaf Karna) – To clean

        हमें अपने कमरे को साफ करना चाहिए। (We should clean our room.)

        गिरना (Girana) – To fall

        बारिश में सड़क पर गिरना आसान होता है। (It is easy to fall on the road in the rain.)

        तोहफा देना (Tohfa Dena) – To gift

        उसने मुझे जन्मदिन पर तोहफा दिया। (He gave me a gift on my birthday.)

        रुकना (Rukna) – To stop

        बारिश अब रुक गई है। (The rain has stopped now.)

        बदलना (Badalna) – To change

        मौसम जल्दी बदल रहा है। (The weather is changing fast)

        आशा करना (Aasha Karna) – To hope

        मैं आशा करता हूँ कि तुम सफल होगे। (I hope you will succeed.)

        मानना (Manna) – To believe/accept

        मैं आपकी बात मानता हूँ। (I believe what you say.)

        पूछना (Poochna) – To ask

        मैंने शिक्षक से एक सवाल पूछा। (I asked the teacher a question.)

        समझाना (Samjhana) – To explain

        शिक्षक ने हमें गणित का सवाल समझाया। (The teacher explained the math problem to us.)

        प्रयास करना (Prayas Karna) – To try

        मैं समस्या को हल करने का प्रयास कर रहा हूँ। (I am trying to solve the problem.)

         माफ़ करना (Maaf Karna) – To forgive

        कृपया मेरी गलती को माफ़ कर दें। (Please forgive my mistake.)

        इंतज़ार करना (Intezaar Karna) – To wait

        मैं अपने दोस्त का इंतज़ार कर रहा हूँ। (I am waiting for my friend.)

        चिंता करना (Chinta Karna) – To worry

        परीक्षा के बारे में चिंता मत करो। (Don't worry about the exam.)

        दिखाना (Dikhana) – To show

        उसने मुझे अपनी नई कार दिखाई। (He showed me his new car.)

         ले जाना (Le Jana) – To take away

        कृपया इस किताब को ले जाइए। (Please take this book away.)

        पहनना (Pehanna) – To wear

        मैंने आज नीला शर्ट पहना है। (I am wearing a blue shirt today.)

        बेचना (Bechna) – To sell

        वह फल बेचता है। (He sells fruits.)

        खरीदना (Kharidna) – To buy

        मैंने एक नई घड़ी खरीदी। (I bought a new watch.)

        ढकना (Dhakna) – To cover

        उसने किताब को कपड़े से ढका। (He covered the book with a cloth.)

        फेंकना (Fenkna) – To throw

        उसने गेंद फेंकी। (He threw the ball.)

        रखना (Rakhna) – To keep/place

        किताब को टेबल पर रखो। (Keep the book on the table.)

        गिनना (Ginna) – To count

        बच्चा संख्या गिन रहा है। (The child is counting numbers.)

        कूदना (Koodna) – To jump

        वह खुशी से कूद रहा है। (He is jumping with joy.)

        पकाना (Pakana) – To cook

        मेरी माँ बहुत अच्छा खाना पकाती हैं। (My mother cooks very well.)

        नाचना (Naachna) – To dance

        वे शादी में नाच रहे हैं। (They are dancing at the wedding.)

        फाड़ना (Fadna) – To tear

        उसने गलती से कागज़ फाड़ दिया। (He accidentally tore the paper.)

        घूमना (Ghoomna) – To roam/travel

        मैं अपने दोस्तों के साथ घूमने गया। (I went roaming with my friends.)

        तैरना (Tairna) – To swim

        वह नदी में तैर रहा है। (He is swimming in the river.)

        बचाना (Bachana) – To protect/save

        हमें पर्यावरण को बचाना चाहिए। (We should protect the environment.)

        गिराना (Girana) – To drop

        उसने गलती से गिलास गिरा दिया। (He accidentally dropped the glass.)

        फैलाना (Phailana) – To spread

         यह खबर तेजी से फैल रही है। (This news is spreading fast.)

        बढ़ाना (Badhana) – To increase

        हमें अपनी ज्ञान बढ़ाना चाहिए। (We should increase our knowledge.)

        घटाना (Ghatana) – To decrease/reduce

        सरकार ने टैक्स घटा दिया। (The government reduced the tax.)

        मारना (Marna) – To hit/kill

        बच्चे को मत मारो। (Don't hit the child.)

        बच निकलना (Bach Nikalna) – To escape

        चोर पुलिस से बच निकल गया। (The thief escaped from the police.)

        हिलना (Hilna) – To move/shake

          हवा से पेड़ हिल रहा है। (The tree is shaking due to the wind.)

        डरना (Darna) – To fear

        मुझे अंधेरे से डर लगता है। (I am afraid of the dark.)

        दबाना (Dabana) – To press

        यह बटन दबाइए। (Press this button.)

        सुनाना (Sunana) – To narrate/tell

        दादी ने हमें कहानी सुनाई। (Grandmother told us a story.)

        झाड़ू लगाना (Jhaadu Lagana) – To sweep

        नौकरानी ने फर्श पर झाड़ू लगाई। (The maid swept the floor.)

        टटोलना (Tatolna) – To feel/grope

        वह अंधेरे में रास्ता टटोल रहा था। (He was groping for the way in the dark.)

         सजाना (Sajana) – To decorate

        उसने कमरा फूलों से सजाया। (He decorated the room with flowers.)

        चमकना (Chamkana) – To shine

        सूरज चमक रहा है। (The sun is shining.)

        पकड़ लेना (Pakad Lena) – To grab/catch hold of

        पुलिस ने चोर को पकड़ लिया। (The police caught the thief.)

        डूबना (Doobna) – To drown/sink

         जहाज समुद्र में डूब गया। (The ship sank in the ocean.)

         मुस्कुराना (Muskuraana) – To smile

        वह हमेशा मुस्कुराती रहती है। (She always keeps smiling.)

        पोंछना (Ponchna) – To wipe

        उसने अपने आँसू पोंछे। (He wiped his tears.)

        सूंघना (Soonghna) – To smell/sniff

        कुत्ता खाने को सूंघ रहा है। (The dog is sniffing the food.)

        जलाना (Jalana) – To burn/light

        उसने मोमबत्ती जलाई। (He lit the candle.)

        भरना (Bharna) – To fill

        बाल्टी में पानी भर दो। (Fill the bucket with water.)

        फोड़ना (Phodna) – To burst

        उसने गुब्बारा फोड़ दिया। (He burst the balloon.)

        तोड़ देना (Tod Dena) – To break completely

        गुस्से में उसने फोन तोड़ दिया। (In anger, he broke the phone.)

        रोकना (Rokna) – To stop/hold back

        बस को रोक दो। (Stop the bus.)

        बुलाना (Bulana) – To call (someone)

        मैंने तुम्हें बुलाया था। (I had called you.)

        चबाना (Chabana) – To chew

        खाना अच्छी तरह चबाकर खाओ। (Chew the food properly before eating.)
